Property rights are one of those constitutional rights that seems to be constantly eroding right before our eyes.  Whether it is the federal, state, county or city government, property rights are an easy prey.  With property taxes going up along with countless fees, it is a never ending battle. As property owners and managers, we are extremely concerned that, between taxes and fees, property rights are becoming less of a right to own property and more of an obligation to keep bloated governments spending our money any way they please.

For these reasons your Iowa Landlord Association has set up a political action committee to protect those rights and to reverse the trend of increased property taxes and unreasonable increases in inspection fees.  As an Association we can send out press releases, letters and e-mails to our elected officials (and bureaucrats), and hold countless meetings with those bureaucrats and elected officials, but to get their attention, a political action committee can make the difference.  We plan to get their attention and more.  It will not be easy and quick, and the battle will have it's successes and defeats but we need to get started.

Contributions to PAC's, by law, can receive money from individuals and partnerships, but not from corporations, insurance companies, banks, credit unions or S & Ls.  PACs MAY receive money from corporations ONLY TO defray the administrative cost of running the PAC.
